WELCOME TO OUR WELLNESS-BASED NONPROFIT FOR WHOLE-PERSON DEVELOPMENT

OUR MISSION
Our mission at Beacon of Light Whole-Person Wellness is to provide free holistic support for those who have experienced trauma and hardship, those looking to better adjust to life’s challenges, and those looking to enhance their quality of life through a whole-person approach. We understand that in order to experience healing and truly thrive, individuals must be treated as a whole person. For us, this means that we look at all dimensions of what it means to be well and provide support in each of these areas. We combine traditional concepts of psychology and counseling, life coaching, movement and creative therapies, social emotional learning, the many branches of yoga, mindfulness, and holistic healing techniques to provide the community with deep and meaningful healing experiences so that they can achieve their fullest potential.
Based on Dr. Bill Hettler’s wellness model, Beacon of Light Whole-Person Wellness serves the community through seven dimensions of wellness to include the physical, emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual, occupational, and environmental. We provide individual and group therapeutic art, sound healing, meditation, yoga, breath work, life coaching, career counseling, educational counseling, creative play, nutritional support, spiritual support and guidance, and more. We also provide referral services for those in need of more direct or ongoing support in the areas of mental health, physical health, food services, financial resources, and rehabilitation.
OUR VISION
A Time for Change
Beacon of Light Whole-Person Wellness knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but also in the actions of our initiatives. Beacon of Light Whole-Person Wellness provides a wide range of support for those looking to heal from trauma, better adjust to life’s changes, and enhance their quality of life. Through trauma-informed creative and artistic therapies; holistic practices like yoga, meditation, and breath work; life coaching; community building; and a multi-modal wellness approach, Beacon of Light Whole-Person Wellness provides care and self-directed support to the whole person in the ways that are most meaningful to that individual.

OUR WORK

WHAT IS WHOLE-PERSON WELLNESS?
According to Nustep, “Whole-person wellness is holistic and multi-dimensional. It’s a conscious, ongoing process that encompasses all aspects of one’s life. It embraces self-responsibility, optimism and self-worth. In addition, it is self-directed. And, it promotes the active pursuit of a lifestyle that supports each dimension of wellness.” https://www.nustep.com/community/blog/what-is-whole-person-wellness-and-why-is-it-important/

OUR FOUNDER
Brandi Junious, M.Ed.

"Therapeutic art changed everything"
Brandi Junious founded Beacon of Light Whole-Person Wellness in 2022 after seeing a deep need for whole-person healing that takes into account the multiple dimensions of human pain and wellness. Brandi, a certified therapeutic art life coach with a BA in Psychology and a MA in Education, worked with survivors and marginalized communities for years prior to starting Beacon of Light Whole-Person Wellness. However, during the pandemic, she began offering free therapeutic art classes to the community and realized how important a multi-modal, holistic approach was to healing and wellness. Since then, she has combined her background and experience with leading research and innovative practices to provide a range of support services for the whole person. Her research-based approach takes into account the interconnectedness of our human experiences and the need to address all dimensions of wellness when advocating for healing, growth, and wellbeing.
Brandi Junious is also a visual artist, author, researcher, and educator working to bring greater diversity, equity, inclusion, access, belonging, and healing to communities across contexts to create authentic cultures of care for all.
